{"id":6837,"date":"2026-02-19T11:47:02","date_gmt":"2026-02-19T10:47:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.r2docuo.com\/en\/legal-changes-documents-spain-2026"},"modified":"2026-09-02T20:56:45","modified_gmt":"2026-09-02T19:56:45","slug":"legal-changes-documents-spain-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.r2docuo.com\/en\/legal-changes-documents-spain-2026","title":{"rendered":"Legal changes affecting your documents in Spain in 2026"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>2026 is going to be a year full of changes in Spain for some of the most important documents companies handle.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s look at the changes your company should be ready for this year.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The anti-fraud system (better known as Verifactu)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Although the obligation to comply with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.r2docuo.com\/en\/electronic-invoicing-software-verifactu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Verifactu<\/a> has been put back to 2027, this year you should already be preparing for it in several ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reviewing your internal procedures for issuing and storing invoices, making sure everything is properly recorded and in line with what the regulation requires.<\/li>\n<li>Replacing software that does not meet the new requirements on tamper-proofing and traceability of documentation.<\/li>\n<li>Making sure there are no discrepancies between what the company invoices, what it records in its accounts and what it stores \u2014 and that, where there are, the reasons can be demonstrated somehow.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Adapting in 2026 will not be getting ahead of the game, it will be reducing risk before Verifactu is fully in force.<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"b2b-electronic-invoicing-the-crea-y-crece-act\" class=\"anchor\">B2B electronic invoicing (the Crea y Crece Act)<\/h2>\n<p>Although it can be confused with Verifactu, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.boe.es\/diario_boe\/txt.php?id=BOE-A-2022-15818\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Crea y Crece Act<\/a> concerns the format and the exchange channel for invoices between companies, not how they are generated and recorded.<\/p>\n<p>This law establishes that transactions between companies and professionals must be carried out by electronic invoice, which means changes that are not only technological but also organisational.
